From Food Battles to Food Freedom: My Story

I didn’t set out to become a food freedom coach.

In fact, for over 20 years, I lived the very battle I now help women break free from.

Like so many women of faith, I did everything the world told me would work: I counted calories, tracked points, cut out carbs, and swore I’d “start over” every Monday. I became a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, thinking if I just gained enough knowledge, I’d finally figure it out.

But no matter how much discipline I mustered, the same patterns always came back.

The Struggle That Stole My Peace

Even at my fittest, the food chatter never stopped.

Every meal was a negotiation. Every mirror check was an inspection. Every “slip” was another wave of shame.

I told myself I was strong. That I just needed more willpower. That if I prayed harder, pushed harder, restricted more, I’d finally feel at peace.

But the truth? I was exhausted.

I lost and regained weight again and again. I tried every diet under the sun. I told myself I should be able to “fix” my body if I just tried harder. But every time I failed, the shame cut deeper.

Even after I lost the baby weight - five separate times - I didn’t feel relief. Instead, I was plagued by the same mental chatter that followed me everywhere:

What should I eat?

➤ How much is too much?

➤ Did I mess it up again?

I could succeed at almost anything else in life - raising six kids, running a household, helping others - but when it came to food and my body, I always felt like a failure.

The Breaking Point

I’ll never forget one night: standing in the bathroom, staring at my reflection, tears streaming down my face.

I didn’t see a woman made in God’s image. I saw flaws. I saw failure. I saw someone I didn’t trust anymore.

And for the first time, I admitted the truth:

This wasn’t just about food.

It wasn’t just about weight.

It was about the war I was waging inside my own mind.

The Turning Point

That night, I cried out to God for a different way. And He answered - not with another diet or rulebook, but with a revelation:

My body was not the enemy. She was my ally.

For the first time, I began to see my body not as something to punish, but as a vessel to honor.

I learned about thought work and brain science - tools that showed me how to observe my thoughts instead of drowning in them. I started practicing curiosity instead of criticism. I invited God into the conversation, allowing His truth to replace my shame.

Slowly, the chatter began to quiet. I could walk into the kitchen without fear. I could look in the mirror and see a woman worthy of love. For the first time in decades, I felt peace.

What Changed When I Partnered With My Body

Once I shifted from punishment to partnership, everything changed.

• I no longer obsessed about food all day.

• I stopped starting over every Monday.

• I dressed for joy, not for shame.

• I nourished my body because I wanted her to thrive.

• I began to release weight naturally, without the endless cycle of restriction and guilt.

But the biggest change wasn’t on the scale - it was in my spirit.

I felt closer to God. I felt lighter, freer, more present with my family. I had energy and clarity I hadn’t felt in years.

The battle was over. Peace had finally come.

From Personal Healing to Professional Calling

At first, I thought this freedom was just for me. But as I began to live differently, women around me started to notice.

They asked:

“How do you eat without tracking?”

“How did you stop obsessing over your body?”

“You look peaceful… what changed?”

I began sharing what I had learned - the tools of thought renewal, emotional awareness, and sustainable habits rooted in faith. And soon, I realized: this wasn’t just my story. It was theirs too.

Thousands of women were silently fighting the same battle. And if God had given me the tools to find freedom, I knew I had a responsibility to share them.

That’s why I created the Body Ally™ Method and my signature program, Freedom With Body & Food™.

What We Do

The Body Ally™ Method

Out of my personal journey came a proven framework - a 4-pillar process that helps women stop obsessing over food and find the peace they’ve been praying for.

Body Partnership Process

Rebuild trust with your body by honoring hunger and fullness cues, without counting or restricting.

Internal Thought Creation Process

Rewire the thought patterns that fuel guilt and obsession, replacing them with truth-centered beliefs.

Emotional Awareness Framework

Learn to process emotions without turning to food, so cravings lose their power.

Sustainable Habits

Build brain-friendly, faith-fueled rhythms of nourishment, rest, and movement that last for life

It’s not a diet. It’s not a quick fix. It’s a new way of living - one rooted in grace, freedom, and faith.

Credentials and Experience

My path may have started with personal struggle, but today I bring both lived experience and professional training to my work:

✓ Certified Life Coach (The Life Coach School)

✓ Certified Nutrition Specialist (NASM)

✓ Certified Personal Trainer (NASM)

✓ Graduate of Beating Binge Eating™

Founder of The Body Ally™ Movement & Creator of Freedom With Body & Food™

More than credentials, what I bring is empathy. I know what it feels like to cry out to God for freedom, to try everything and still feel stuck, to live in cycles of shame and defeat.

And I also know the joy of finally finding peace.

Why This Matters

Because food freedom isn’t just about food.

When you stop obsessing over what you eat, you create space for what truly matters:

• Laughing with your kids without shame hanging over you.

• Walking past the dessert table without panic.

• Pouring into your calling with focus and energy.

• Living as the woman God created you to be.

This work isn’t just about ending the food fight. It’s about reclaiming your life.

My Invitation to You

If you’ve ever thought, “I’ll always struggle with food,” I want you to know: that’s a lie.

You are not broken. You are not failing. You are not too far gone.

You are simply caught in a battle you were never meant to fight - and there is another way.

The same God who led me out of food obsession and body shame can do the same for you. And the Body Ally™ Method is here to guide you step by step.

This is not about rules or punishment. It’s about peace. It’s about freedom. It’s about honoring your body as the vessel God created her to be.

And it starts with one choice: to stop fighting and start partnering.

Your story doesn’t end with struggle.

This is the beginning of your freedom.
